NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS -
Caliper Corporation, a leader in GIS and transportation software, is pleased
to announce the launch of the
TransCAD
User Center, which is available to TransCAD users
under support. The TransCAD User Center will provide convenient access to
resources that Caliper shares with users. These will include additional
TransCAD procedures and documentation, new and enhanced data, and
publications of likely interest to transportation professionals.
The initial resource at the TransCAD User Center is CTPP Data Download. All
of the 2000 Census Transportation Planning Package data for Part 1 (the
characteristics of workers at their residence) and Part 2 (the
characteristics of workers at their workplace) are available for download
for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. These data are in the format
used by the Table Choosers for CTPP Part 1 and Part 2 that are part of the
planning procedures for TransCAD 4.7. The Table Choosers make it easy to get
selected tables for selected areas at any summary level, and create a table
file or a geographic file. Other resources will be added as the TransCAD
User Center evolves.
