NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) - Caliper Corporation, a worldwide
leader in GIS, mapping and transportation software, is pleased to announce a
detailed data product for Canada. These data allow the creation of detailed
maps down to the street level for anywhere in Canada.
The product ships with a Canadian Map Library, making it easy
to create attractive maps with the Map Librarian. You can quickly create
overview maps for any location, and with the map designed specifically for
use with Canadian streets, you can effectively map the 1 million kilometers
of accurate up-to-date centerline road network data.
The complete list of new layers includes:
• Aboriginal Lands
• Census Divisions
• Census Subdivisions
• Census Metropolitan Areas
• National Parks
• Populated Places
• Provinces
• Railroads
• Rivers
• Streets
• Water Areas
• Digital Elevation Models
• Major Roads
• Federal Election Districts
With the new Canadian data you can map your own information at
any of the various administrative boundary levels provided. You can use any
of the wide range of geographic analysis tools and methods in Maptitude and
TransCAD to, for example, create custom districts based on these new
Canadian area layers. The additional layers such as streets and populated
places also provide background and contextual information that is valuable
for mapping at any scale.
