Caliper Announces Australian Data Disc Version 2 for Use with Maptitude and TransCAD

NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) - Caliper Corporation, a worldwide leader in GIS, transportation and mapping software, is pleased to announce the second version of a detailed data product for Australia. These data add additional detail to the boundary maps previously provided. This product is free with software orders shipped to Australia, or costs US$195 internationally.

The Australian Data Disk Version 2 ships with an updated Map Library that makes it easy to create attractive maps quickly for any location. This new release adds default maps for land-use and transportation.

Users can now create attractive and informative maps of Australia using a combination of the original boundary layers and the new feature data (please visit www.caliper.com/DataCDs/AustralianData.htm for a complete list of the old and new layers). These new layers are drawn from the Geoscience Australia medium scale vector representation of the topography of Australia (GEODATA TOPO 250K Series 3). This is at a scale of 1:250,000 and provides valuable contextual information that is also available for further analysis.

Maptitude supports a wide range of projection and datum conversions for Australasia.
