Caliper Announces TRB Pyke Johnson Award to UC Irvine Researchers Using TransCAD and TransModeler

NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) - Caliper is pleased to announce that a team
of transportation researchers at UC Irvine using TransCAD and TransModeler,
Caliper's state-of-the-art traffic simulation software, has won the
prestigious Pyke Johnson Outstanding Paper Award from the Transportation
Research Board (TRB). This award is given annually for the best paper
presented at the TRB Annual Meeting in the area of planning and environment,
and subsequently published in the TRB Transportation Research Record. The
paper, "Environmental Impacts of a Major Freight Corridor: A Study of I-710
in California," was co-authored by Gunwoo Lee, Soyoung You, Stephen Ritchie,
Jean-Daniel Saphores, Mana Sangkapichai and R. Jayakrishnan and reports
results from an innovative multidisciplinary research project concerned with
modeling the air quality impacts of freight operations in the Alameda
Corridor between the San Pedro Bay Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles to
near downtown Los Angeles.
