Let Caliper Adjust Your PL 94-171 Data if You Require Adjustments for
Military Personnel, College Students, or Prison Populations

NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) - Caliper Corporation is pleased to
announce the availability of PL 94-171 data adjustment services.
Some states require adjustments to Census Public Law 94-171
population data to account for prison population, college students,
military personnel, or other factors. For example, Kansas requires
that the population figures reflect college students and military
personnel at their places of permanent residence, Maryland adjusts
population counts based on prison population, and Pennsylvania
splits Census blocks.
This year Caliper has been awarded a contract with the state of Kansas to
adjust the Federal 2010 Census Public Law 94-171 population data and produce
a set of adjusted population figures for use in state legislative
redistricting. Caliper will adjust the population figures to count college
students and military personnel at their places of permanent residence. Such
persons with different current and permanent 2010 Census block codes need to
be updated. Caliper will move each respondent from their current location to
their permanent location, updating all the appropriate tables based upon
their age, race and Hispanic origin status.
Please contact us if your state is planning such an adjustment and you
would like assistance. You can visit the

website, email sales@caliper.com,
