Maptitude® On-Line Training

Introductory Maptitude: Lesson 4

Dataviews

4.22 Joining Data to a Map: Basics
  • A live link between information in your data file and features in a geographic file or map layer.

With Maptitude you can make maps from your data, enabling you to visualize the data in new and different ways. To use your data in a map, you join the data to a map layer, matching the records in your file to the features in a geographic file. This creates a joined view.

Once you create a joined view, you can use your data in a map by creating a theme or by labeling the map. You can display dataviews that show data from the geographic file side by side with your own data. You can even create formulas that combine fields from the two different sources.
