Choose File-Open Workspace
and choose AVGSALES.WRK. Maptitude displays a map and a dataview.
Choose Dataview-Join
or click on the toolbar.
Choose [Abbrev.] from the Joining
From Field drop-down list.
Click OK. Since some states have
more than one customer, Maptitude asks if you want to create a one-to-many join.
Click Yes. Maptitude displays the
joined dataview.
Choose the Sales column (near
right side of the dataview). This column is a formula field that shows the total of the
sales to customers in each state.
Click
on the toolbar. Maptitude displays a
new map window with a scaled-symbol theme of total sales by state.
Choose File-Close All
and click No to All to close the maps and the dataviews.
