Maptitude® On-Line Training

Introductory Maptitude: Lesson 4

Dataviews

4.3 Dataview Basics: Creating a Dataview
You can create a dataview:
  • For the working layer of a map
  • For any map layer or open table
  • From a database or data file

Maptitude lets you create and display any number of dataviews. Dataviews can also link data from a spreadsheet or database to the features on a map.

Dataviews display data for map layers and data stored in dBASE and FoxPro files, fixed-format text files, fixed-format binary files, and comma-separated text files. The data can be stored on your desktop, on a CD-ROM, or on a network file server.

You can also use Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) to open files and display data in dataviews.
