Selection Sets

EXERCISE: Selecting with the Selection Tools
Click on the map window to activate the main toolbox.
Click
to activate the Select by Pointing tool in the main toolbox.
Click on a ZIP Code to select it.
Press the Shift key and drag a box around several ZIP Codes to add them to the selection set.
Press the Ctrl key and click on a ZIP Code to remove it from the selection set.
Click
to activate the Select by Circle tool in the main toolbox.
Drag a circle around several ZIP Codes to select them.
Click
to activate the Select by Shape tool in the main toolbox.
Hold the Shift key and click on a series of points to create a shape around ZIP Codes that are not highlighted.
Double click to close the shape. The ZIP Codes are added to the selection set.
Click
to clear the selection set.

to activate the Select by Circle tool in the main toolbox.
