  • Pie: show values for one field, with two- or three-dimensional design
  • Bar: show values for one or more fields, vertical or horizontal, regular or stacked, with 2-D or 3-D design
  • Line: any number of fields, with a line for each
  • Area: any number of fields, area under line filled, 2-D or 3-D
  • Scatter: relationship between two fields

You choose the type of chart you want based on the number of fields of data you want to show, and how you want to present them. Your chart options vary depending on the number of data fields you want to show.
