Maptitude® On-Line Training

Introductory Maptitude: Lesson 7

Layouts

7.9 Layout Basics: Printing, Saving, and Opening
  • A layout is printed directly; you can print one or more copies of some or all of the pages
  • All the settings to recreate a layout are saved into a Layout file (.LAY) by choosing File-Save
  • You can also choose File-Save As to save layouts as Windows bitmaps or metafiles, or as JPEG compressed images
  • Choose File-Open to retrieve a layout

You can print an entire layout or any subset of the pages in a layout. Maptitude automatically selects the correct printer, paper size, and orientation based on the layout settings.

You save Maptitude layouts in a file. When you save a layout, Maptitude automatically saves all of the maps and dataviews that are part of the layout. When you open the layout again later, Maptitude restores all the maps and dataviews to their original appearance.
