How Do I Get Updated Voting District Boundaries?

The U.S. Census Bureau collects and publishes ward and precinct boundaries once every 10 years for the tabulation of Public Law 94-171 (100% count) data. These boundaries, called voting tabulation districts, or VTDs, are made available as part of the decennial census geography.

Maptitude for Redistricting uses data as reported by the 2020 census, and does not update data based on local changes. You can however use any external geographic files within the software, such as shapefiles. For details on this process, see: https://www.caliper.com/learning/media/using-other-geographic-file-formats-in-maptitude/

Newer ward and precinct boundaries may be available in your area. Please check with your state or local elections office for information regarding availability.
