Maptitude Data Files
Your version of Maptitude contains:
- Geographic and tabular data for the world
- Geographic and tabular data for the Country Package(s) that you have licensed
Geographic Files for the World
Your Maptitude package includes world geographic and tabular data.
| File | Description |
|---|---|
| ccWorld.cdf | An area layer of country/territory boundaries. There are 271 areas, with data including ISO and other abbreviations, the capital, estimated population, and the name in several languages |
| ccWorldProvince.cdf | An area layer of provinces/states for about 50 countries. Each is identified with its name. There are 970 areas, with data including the state/province name, ISO country abbreviation, the capital, and estimated population. The Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics (NUTS) Code is included for European countries. |
| ccWorldGazetteer.cdf | A point layer of over four million populated cities, towns, and villages. Features in the file are located with medium accuracy, but are useful for finding populated places around the world. |
| ccWorldCity.cdf | A point layer that is a subset of the populated place file with the locations of 1269 major cities and 224 country capitals. |
The following world and grid data are also provided:

| ccUTM.cdf | An area layer of Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) zones, plus the Universal Polar Stereographic zone areas for the portions of the globe north and south of 80 degrees of latitude. |
| ccGrid5.cdf | A longitude/latitude grid of lines for every 5 degrees |
| ccGrid10.cdf | A longitude/latitude grid of lines for every 10 degrees |
| ccGridArea.cdf | A longitude/latitude grid of areas with 10 degrees on a side which are drawn by default in ocean blue, with a light blue border to show the grid lines themselves. |
| ccImportantLatitude | A line layer of the Arctic and Antarctic circles, the Tropic of Cancer, the Tropic of Capricorn, and the Equator. |
Because the data files are updated from time to time, be sure to read the README.TXT files that appear with the data to get the latest information.
Most of the geographic files are setup to display with their own point, line, or area style and are setup with autoscaling to display within certain predefined map scales. You can change the style of features as described in Using Styles and you can change the autoscale settings as described in Controlling Layers Automatically with Autoscale.
