Caliper Corporation invites you to attend training for Maptitude
Geographic Information System for Windows.
The classes will be at our training center in Newton, Massachusetts.
Caliper training is the fast, cost-effective way to learn how to make
the most of your Maptitude software investment.
The three days of training are aimed at every type of user. The course
covers skills and tools valuable to both new and experienced users of
Maptitude and participants learn the fundamentals of Maptitude and
related GIS concepts.
Below is an overview for each day of training:
Overview Day 1: Introductory Maptitude
• Use Create-a-Map Wizard to quickly map and analyze your data, apply
styles, and add themes
• Learn how you can use Maptitude to map and analyze data
• Control map layers and their settings with the Display Manager
• Visualize your data using thematic and prism maps
• Use powerful database capabilities to organize, analyze, and manage
your data
• Learn how to create and use multiple, named selection sets
Overview Day 2: Intermediate Maptitude
• Add TerraServer-USA and Google Earth imagery to your maps
• Select records and map features based on attributes and location
• Learn how to modify tables and join tables based on common fields
• Map only your area of interest for analysis and display
• Present your data using report layouts and use your maps in other
programs
• Locate your data by address, ZIP Code, city, pointing, and coordinates
• Use GIS analytical tools to create buffers, overlays, areas of
influence, and "hot-spot" density grids
Overview Day 3: Advanced Maptitude
• Use powerful surface analysis and 3-D tools
• Use additional GIS tools to connect points, select by adjacency, and
create custom market areas
• Understand projections and coordinate systems
• Learn how to use a GPS with Maptitude
• Link to multimedia sources such as site photos and documents simply by
clicking on a map feature
• Learn more about imagery and how to create image libraries
• Learn how to edit point, line, and area geographic data to maintain
your own map layers
• Get valuable map display and styling tips
• Use data stored in external databases such as Oracle and Microsoft
Access databases
• Use Caliper’s innovative social, economic, and housing Census data

Location and Schedule:
By attending the training you gain access to experienced and
knowledgeable Caliper staff who can aid you with your immediate project,
analysis, and data needs.
The
Boston, MA, training session will be held at our offices in
Newton MA, a
western suburb of Boston, about 8 miles from downtown.
Schedule:
• Sign-in at 8:45 AM
• Classes start at 9 AM
• Breaks at mid-morning and mid-afternoon
• One-hour break for lunch
• Classes end at 5 PM
Costs and registration:
• Classroom courses at our headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts are
$900 for three classes, $600 for two classes, and $395
for a single class
• Classroom courses at other locations are $1200 for three classes;
daily rate subject to availability
• Advanced registration and payment are required
