You can merge sub plans for different geographic areas into an open plan. You may have a plan that contains district assignments for the eastern part of a state, and an open plan that contains district assignments for the western part of the same state. The district boundaries for the plan that is not opened can be merged into the open plan.
- Open a plan with features for part of the region.
- Choose Redistricting>Plan Utilities>Merge Plans.
- Choose the library that contains the plan to be merged and choose the districts to merge. **Note: the plan you choose must be based on the same hierarchy as the current plan.
- Click OK.
The district assignments from the eastern state plan are merged into the current plan.
