1) Does Maptitude for the Web work on Windows Server 2003 r2 and
2008? 32 or 64 bit versions?
Yes it does. The executable is 32 bit. We have it installed on our own
Windows 2003 and 2008 servers.
2) Can you use web authoring programs to set up map objects (such
as Dreamweaver or Expression)?
Yes, we regularly use Visual Studio, Dreamweaver,
FrontPage, and Expression.
Our program ships with the source code of many
application templates which we call Mapplications. The source code is
written in HTML and javascript (on the client-side) and VB.NET or C# on the
server side. An overview can be found here:

We can also provide custom applications written in Python
or PHP on the server side.
3) If you need Visual Studio to do more complicated things, what
versions of VS are compatible?
2005, 2008, and the web express free tools
4) Does the program serve up map files in the standard Maptitude
format?
Yes, you can use any of the maps and layers created in
Maptitude version 5.0 and earlier directly in Maptitude for the Web
5) I have lots of ESRI Shapefiles. Can I use them in Maptitude
for the Web?
Yes. We also support many other file and database
formats. A complete list if available here.
6) Does the program require a Java or Flash plug-in on the client
side?
No. The program creates plain HTML output with images in
JPEG and PNG format files.
7) How much does Maptitude for the Web cost per year?
A single license costs $2000 per year. The recommended
enterprise configuration is two licenses: one used for development and one
used on a server for the public web site.
