NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) - The Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council uses TransModeler to assess alternative ways of modifying the Scajaquada Expressway, alternatives for a new bridge over the Buffalo River, and alternatives for improving the Interstate 90-290 corridor. GBNRTC notes that "nothing has ever riveted attention at public meetings as recent computer animations of regional traffic, showing the real-world movements of individual cars, trucks and transit along major roads and intersections."
GBNRTC's Stephen Szopinski says of TransModeler, "You don't have to make mistakes in the field anymore. Microsimulation will tell you what the impacts are of adding a new ramp, for example, or a new interchange, or a new lane or road, or of a traffic incident or accident."
GBNRTC featured an article on TransModeler in its fourth quarter newsletter. Click here for the full text of the article (courtesy of Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council).
