NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) — Caliper is pleased to announce that July 2013 ZIP Code (USA) data are now available for the entire United States. The ZIP Code data work with the latest versions of Caliper's Maptitude mapping software and TransCAD transportation planning software.
If you make business decisions based on postal data, Caliper quarterly ZIP Code updates will ensure that you are using the latest information. The ZIP Code layers are refreshed quarterly to ensure that you are using up-to-date nationwide US Postal Service definitions and they include hundreds of fields of demographic and business pattern data at no additional cost.
The new July 2013 ZIP Codes now allow you to target areas by growth using 54 new fields of demographic projections for 2015 and 2020 covering population, age, race, gender, and ethnicity. Three new fields with aggregate buying power data allow you to target areas by disposable income.
The ZIP Code data product also comes with 2010 Census, 2011 American Community Survey (ACS), and 2009 ZIP Code Business Patterns data. Included with both the 3-digit and 5-digit ZIP Code area layers are 97 fields of Census data describing population, age, gender, households, and housing units and 311 fields of ACS data describing income, race, ethnicity, occupation, education, language spoken, marital status, travel mode, housing units, and housing value. Also included are 24 fields of ZIP Code Business Patterns data with number of businesses by detailed industry type, number of employees, and annual payrolls. The ZIP Codes are also classified by their rural-urban commuting characteristics.
