Maptitude Mapping Software Team Sponsors 2019 NESTVAL Student Poster Competition

NEWTON, MA (USA) - On October 18th & 19th 2019, Framingham State University of Framingham Massachusetts hosted The New England-St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society's (NESTVAL) annual fall conference. This function has been running since 1922 and aims to both promote geographical education and research and support local geographers. This year the conference’s theme was “Climate Change Education” and featured keynote speaker Dr. Kerry Emanuel, a meteorologist/climate scientist from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The event features the student GeoBowl, where student researchers present their geographical papers and posters and NESTVAL presents awards to particularly outstanding projects. This year, the Maptitude Mapping Software Team sponsored the competition, and Anna Therien of Westfield State University won the Maptitude Mapping Software Student Research Poster Award.

“The Maptitude mapping software team is proud to be the corporate sponsor for the Student Poster Competition.” said Stewart Berry, vice president of product management, mapping software at Caliper. “The prizes benefit students in higher education studying geography, with the goal to help develop applied geography professionals.”
