Census Block Groups 2022

Block Groups are a combination of census blocks and are also a subdivision of census tracts. Census Bureau Block Groups generally contain between 600 and 3000 people and are made up of on average 40 census blocks. Tracts (which are included with Maptitude and TransCAD) are made up of on average 4 Block Groups. Block Groups are more detailed than any Census geography layer shipped with Maptitude or TransCAD. Caliper also offers more detailed Census Block maps.

The 2022 Census Block Groups Data product contains a nationwide boundary file database with 242,176 census block groups and demographic data from the 2020 Census, 2010 Census, and 2016-2020 American Community Survey (ACS).
