How has population growth varied across the United States? This map, made with Maptitude 2015, shows the total and percentage change in population by state. The color of the states indicates the percentage change in population, with the greatest percentage increases occuring in North Dakota, Texas, and the District of Columbia. Pie charts show the absolute value of the population change, with the largest population gains in three of the four most populous states, California, Texas, and Florida. New York, the third most populous state, did not see similar growth.
