For National Beauticians Day (June 26) we mapped 468,000 beauty industry businesses and computed the number per 10,000 people in each state. These businesses include hair, nail, and tanning salons, spas, wellness centers, aestheticians, and beauty schools. The national average is 13.9 per 10,000. The highest concentration of beauty related businesses can be found in California (18.6), Nevada (17.8), and Florida (16.5).
