For National Craft Distillery Day (May 22) we mapped over 2,500 distilleries and computed the number of stores per 1,000,000 people in each state. The highest concentration of distilleries can be found in the U.S. Virgin Islands (80.3), Vermont (40.3), Kentucky (27.5), and Montana (27.1).

The map also shows the number of distilleries in each state. California (198), Pennsylvania (178), New York (166), and Texas (165) have the most distilleries.
