How do I Save the Contents of my Selection Set to Excel?

There are many ways to filter your data into a selection set in Maptitude that let you use just a subset of the entire layer. A common thing to do once the selection set has been made is that you wish to export the data back out to Excel, but just the selection set.

In this article, I start with a layer called Customers Layer which has a selection set called Selection and I want to save to Excel the table for just this selection set:

  1. In the Display Manager, right-click on Customer Layer and choose New Dataview
  2. In the top left of the screen will be a drop-down menu that says All Records. Change this to Selection
  3. Go to File>Export>Table
  4. Change the Save as type: to Excel Worksheet (*.xlsx) and save the file in a suitable location
