For National Hamburger Day (May 28) we mapped over 50,000 burger restaurants, from neighborhood burger joints to the large national chains, and computed the number of stores per 100,000 people in each state. The national average is 15 restaurants per 100,000. The highest concentration of burger restaurants can be found in New Mexico (22.0), Mississippi (21.9), Arkansas (21.1), and Oklahoma (21.0).
