You can restore a missing toolbar using mapping software. Toolbars give you one-click access to the tools you use most, so when one goes missing it can be hard to follow your existing workflows. There are different ways to access different toolbars so see below for specifics. If your toolbars have disappeared, such as the zoom, pan, Info, etc., see the pointers below to find a solution.

Why Did My Toolbar Disappear?
In earlier versions of Maptitude Desktop ( 2025 or earlier), toolbars could be dragged away from the top of the application window into their own floating window. The Selection toolbar, Display Manager and Territory Manager have their own close button, so it’s easy to click it by accident while repositioning. Once it’s closed, the toolbar (and every tool on it) disappears from view. Toolbars can also be moved behind other windows or completely off the screen you are using.
Showing the Tools Toolbar (or Any Other Toolbar)
Some toolbars in Maptitude Desktop can be turned on or off from the appropriate menu item along the top of the Maptitude window.
- For the Display Manager, go to Map > Display Manager Toolbar
- For the Territory Manager, go to Map > Territory Manager Toolbar
- For the Selection toolbar, go to Selection > Selection Toolbar.
- For the Tools and Standard toolbar, these can not be turned off. If you are not able to see them they may be docked in a different place or moved to a second monitor.
Primary Toolbars Are Docked Starting with MT26
Note that Maptitude 2026 provides a modern “Simplified Ribbon” style toolstrip, replacing the default floating toolbars (selection, drawing, and navigation). https://www.caliper.com/maptitude/maptitude-2026-new-features-in-depth.htm
Beginning with Maptitude 2026, Standard, Selection, Themes, Analysis and Tools toolbars, are docked to the top of the application window and can no longer be undocked into a floating window or closed the way they could in earlier releases. This removes the most common way a toolbar used to go missing in the first place: once you’re on Maptitude 26 or later, those two toolbars stay put and can’t be hidden.
Maptitude has other toolbars: https://www.caliper.com/learning/maptitude-help/main/idh-contents.htm
These toolbars can be turned on and off explicitly by the user. The previous primary difficulty for users is now gone, because the default toolbars were open by default without the user explicitly opening them and so they didn’t know how to toggle them, unlike all other toolbars that they have to turn on themselves.
Download a free mapping software trial of Maptitude Desktop or use your existing Maptitude Desktop license.
Conclusion
A disappearing toolbar is almost always just a visibility setting rather than a lost feature. Starting with MT26, the Standard and Tools toolbars are docked in place, so this should come up far less often going forward. For more on customizing your workspace, see the Maptitude Help article
